Harley treads carefully, the floorboards creaking beneath the soles of her feet with each step. The only sounds she can hear are the rush of waves, howling ocean winds, and the occasional caw of seagulls.
Harley has never been alone before. At least, not that she remembers. She is always usually by Mama’s side.
This is scary. Harley doesn’t know if she ever felt this scared.
